Her career has included hundreds of trials, arbitrations, and mediations.

IN-DEPTH

Cynthia started her journey toward a career in law when she was a young girl growing up in Maui. Her father, Ka’u Kanoholani, taught her the value of hard work and the importance of a good education. Her mother, Alice, taught her how to balance a career and a family. Cynthia left home at a young age to attend The Kamehameha Schools. After graduating, she moved to the mainland to attend college. She started her college experience in Washington, D.C., and interned for the late Senator Daniel K. Inouye. After two years, she transferred to Philadelphia and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania. Cynthia then returned home where she attended and graduated from the University of Hawaii, Richardson School of Law.

Cynthia remained in Honolulu for several years practicing civil litigation before moving back to Maui to start a family. After several years as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney, she decided to transition back into civil law working in personal injury litigation with James Krueger. Cynthia learned how to balance her career and family as she raised five children while she practiced law full-time, having successfully co-tried more than 20 jury and bench trials with Mr. Krueger.

Cynthia understands first-hand how injuries affect a family unit. Her father was in a rollover car crash with life-changing injuries when she started her career. Later in her career, one of her children then suffered a traumatic brain injury. Cynthia stood firm for their rights and has been their advocate in life, ensuring that they both received the best possible medical care for the best recovery. Cynthia knows that advocacy in civil litigation can allow an injured person and his or her family to receive the resources necessary for the best medical care and treatment, as well as the best quality of life. She is compassionate about helping injured people. She works collaboratively with physicians, in many different specialties, locally as well as on the mainland, to ensure that her clients have the best outcome. Cynthia cares about her clients and fights for their rights.
